Assessments

True to our promise of providing expertise to develop soft skills and competencies of our clients, we offer the key differentiator of providing assessment services of role based and behavioral soft skills too. This service is brought to you in collaboration with Psychtests.com of Canada.

Psychological assessments provide pivotal information that can be used at many stages of the HR, life coaching or counseling processes.

The test battery covers a variety of topics including personality, intelligence in its many forms, mental and workplace health issues, specific job aptitudes, career-related issues as well as attitudes, beliefs, and values.

The assessments use artificial intelligence methods to score and interpret the answers. They automatically produce a report with graphs and numerical results, summary and detailed narrative interpretation, complemented by an extensive advice and tips section. These reports can be enhanced with additional modules such as benchmarks, custom-tailored interview questions, or comparison reports for multiple users.

While not exhaustive, the boxes below show some of the most common applications of psychological assessments in professional settings.

Candidate Selection

We offer many assessments that can be used as a pre-hire screening. General pre-employment assessments will offer in-depth insight about a candidate’s personality, attitudes, and values as well as their strengths and challenges.

Job-specific assessments are based on typical competency models and include personality traits, attitudes and underlying aptitudes required for the position. Test results, especially if combined with industry or custom benchmarks, will help you predict which candidates have what it takes to become top performers.

The Tests are indicative of the range in our library, you may request additional tests and we will be happy to check and get back to you.

Managing Employees

Managing employees can be a major challenge, but it will become so much easier if you have some insight about the employees. When managers and supervisors understand the personality of their team members, when they know what motivates them or rubs them the wrong way, and when they are able to put themselves in the employees shoes, everyday interactions become much smoother, friendlier and efficient.

Here are some examples of tests that will help you get the most out of every team member, and at the same time, create an environment in which employees thrive.

Leadership Development

There aren’t many HR efforts that have more impact on staff productivity, motivation, and turnover than the development of the leadership skills of those in charge. In addition, spotting budding leaders among existing staff and nurturing their skills is a great way to implement an efficient succession plan. The tests can help you evaluate whether an employee has the traits and skills required to effectively lead others, and provide advice on how to develop them.

Training & Development

Did you know that for more than 70% of people, learning new things on the job is a major source of motivation? In addition to the motivational power of learning, studies show that the return on investment for companies is staggering … from 300% to a whopping 1500%. ARCH Profile tests can be used for training in many ways – as part of an employee benefits program, to assess gaps in skills and training needs, or to assess the effectiveness of your training and on-boarding process.

Stress Management

Stress may be part and parcel of many jobs but that doesn’t mean employers (and employees, for that matter) are helpless to change this. While stress can act as a motivator, too much of it can take a toll on an employee’s mental and physical health, productivity, morale, and job satisfaction. ARCH Profile assessments can be used to determine a person’s level of vulnerability to stress, the type of coping mechanisms he or she is likely to use, and whether he/she is at risk for burnout.

Personality

Our personalities are who we are – and we are very multifaceted and complex creatures. When managers and supervisors understand the personality of their team members, when they know what motivates them or rubs them the wrong way, and when they are able to put themselves in their employees’ shoes, everyday interactions become much smoother, friendlier and more productive. Personality tests also do marvels for team building, and make for a fun and insightful exercise, bringing team members closer and helping them to communicate better.

Job Specific

When using tests for hiring, a more general personality assessment can be effective, but doesn’t cover all bases. Job-fit assessments offered by ARCH Profile are based on comprehensive competency models for specific positions or fields. Whether you’re looking to hire an IT professional or a customer service rep, we have a test for you.

Attitudes and Values

Imagine hiring an ambitious, money-motivated individual for a position in a nonprofit organization. Or hiring a compassionate people-person for a position that involves little contact with others. It’s like trying to stick a square peg in a round hole! ARCH Profile tests can offer an in-depth look into a person’s values and attitudes. If you hire someone who has a good attitude and imbues the same values as your organization, they will be a good representative of your company, will be more likely to thrive in their position and stick around for the long haul.

Work style and Habits

Each employee is unique; not everyone will have a fast work pace, or approach their work in an organized, systematic way. Using ARCH Profile assessments can help you determine whether a person will be able to adjust to his/her tasks, your job environment, and the current team. They can also help you weed out slackers, “alpha” types, or people who refuse to take responsibility for their actions.

ARCH Profile offers a variety of tests that can assess everything from spatial orientation to emotional intelligence to more elusive competencies like abstract reasoning.

360 Feedback

Annual performance reviews used to be the norm. These days, most organizations adopt two methods of feedback: Direct feedback during the performance periods and a 360 feedback system. There are several benefits to an ARCH Profile 360 assessment, including the capacity to gather feedback from a variety of sources (peers, direct reports, supervisors, clients), and the possibility to generate both individual and team reports. While this method of feedback can be humbling, it creates an opportunity to turn the tables and have employees assess their manager’s performance and results in an eye-opening experience that offers the participants a plethora of valuable and insightful information.

Team Work

“Must be a team player” is criteria you’ll see in nearly all job advertisements, but teamwork doesn’t always work like a well-oiled machine. Many employees have misgivings about working on a team and for good reason: What if there is a lack of role clarity? What if someone isn’t doing their fair share of the work? Moreover, when putting together a group of “personalities,” some people will inevitably clash. ARCH Profile has several assessments that can offer insight into each individual member in order to determine whether they can work cohesively. Remember, a team is only as strong as its weakest link.

Motivation

If you order food for a group of employees, chances are that they won’t all want the same items. The same can be said for work motivators: What inspires one person may have no motivational impact on another. Research has shown that money is no longer a top motivator. Granted, most employees will appreciate a bonus, but often in conjunction with other tangible and intangible rewards, like recognition, opportunities to learn, and the latest HR buzzwords, work-life balance. ARCH Profile has several tests that can offer insight into what inspires your employees to work hard.

We also offer several optional modules*. These add-ons will add tremendous value to your basic account. They provide additional information that allows you to make more informed decisions, and help you save time with shortcuts and bulk processing.

Benchmarks: An indispensable tool in organizations of any size, benchmarks allow you to view a user’s test results in the right context by providing norms for various groups/industries or even your best performers.

Interview questions: Using the users’ test results, this module will generate a set of suggested interview questions to probe deeper.

Groups: Create ad-hoc groups to perform specific tasks in bulk.

Comparisons: This add-on module will allow you to graphically compare and sort scores on each scale assessed, and can be used for both small and large groups of test-takers.

Data export: Use this module to export the numerical test results for all your test-takers into Excel.

Note: Charges will apply.

Contemporary research data shows that individuals are increasingly investing in their professional development without waiting for their organizations to do so. We are committed to support such individuals should they want to self sponsor their assessments on their own steam.

Such a step will help these self driven individuals become more aware of their soft skill/competency gaps versus their aspirations thereby enabling sure footed steps towards filling such identified need or improvement areas.

To proceed with assessments for yourself, do share the specific assessments that you would like to take by filling in the Form below. We will then get back to you with the plan, the process and the fees that you would require to pay to initiate the assessments for yourself. Once you have taken the assessment (s), the Report (s) will be made available instantaneously. You can download the detailed reports for your use into the future.

All tests are developed by a team of experienced developers led by Ilona Jerabek, PhD. Our technical team, directed by artificial intelligence (AI) researcher Vrat Jerabek, continuously conducts experiments and simulations to improve the AI systems that handle complicated scoring algorithms.

Process

All of the tests offered on ARCH Profile are rigorously developed and based on a thorough statistical analysis. Each test is well researched and designed according to the APA (American Psychological Association) standards for educational and psychological testing.

Overview of statistical analyses

In our validation studies, we run a number of statistical analyses that help us determine the reliability and validity of the assessments. Typically, we analyze the distributions of scores, the internal consistency of the scales (Cronbach’s alphas), correlations between scales, and the performance of individual items. We also conduct factor analysis (both exploratory and confirmatory) to evaluate the structure of the assessment, and compare groups of subjects on a number of variables (performance ratings, educational level, position within organization etc.) using t-tests and ANOVAs. In addition, our intelligence tests are subjected to Rasch analysis. Results of these analyses are reported in statistical reports available to our clients.

Compliance with APA testing standards

Extensive statistical analyses are a very important part of the scientific validation process at Psychtests. We gather data from tens of thousands of test-takers on Psychtests, Queendom and other partner sites. In addition, we investigate the predictive validity of our personality and career aptitude tests in partnership with several companies, including Hickory Farms and Human Perspective International. Based on our findings, we continue to update the tests to provide the most accurate results possible.

EEOC compliance

ARCH Profile assessments are developed with EEOC in mind to ensure that possible adverse impact is minimized. In addition, our research group routinely conducts statistical analyses to ensure that the assessments respect the EEOC standards.
